I didn't realize they were both celebrating their 50th this weekend. As a result, I have purchased a 50th Anniversary Medallion from Killington and will be there skiing this weekend.

If I had known that Sugarbush was celebrating their 50th this weekend, I'd still be at Killington. The medallion gives me 2 days of skiing for $50!

Yeah, Killington certainly offered the better deal to celebrate. Sugarbush made it into pomp and circumstance with the Sugarbus, the big Saturday night soiree, etc.

Not that one is better than the other. To each its own.

3. The Skyeship is really two separate gondolas. Killington I think at one point actually advertised having 3 gondolas. I think.

They DO have 3. As you pointed out, Skyeship is two lifts. Each stage has an independent drive and tension system, and can be run independently of the other. It just happens that they connected the two with a midstation terminal that can be set up such that it operates as though it were one long gondola.

Technically, yes. But as far as the skier is concerned, the Skyship is 1 lift with a midstation. Saying "3 gondolas" (if they did this, I can't remember 100%) is true, but misleading.

The Skyeship serves two main purposes. It's a transfer lift from the parking lot on Rt 4 and it inflates their vertical rise much like Sugarloaf and SR did. I think Pico has a bigger real continuous vertical rise. The cabins of the lift are real pretty, tho.
