Natural? Never mind camera panned out. and it is fan guns

There's natural. They're reporting three inches.

But this is not why Kton opened early. Snowshoe didn't open last year early even after they received over a foot of snow. Webpage has a countdown to opening day which is Nov. 27.

no they always make snow early and stockpile. Snowshoe's elevation is actually higher than Killington. They open the day before thanksgiving and have for years.

Still no word on any snow making at Sunday River? Must be too warm there.

Well, you all know by now that SR is open to the public on the same day K is! I cannot go so it really does nto matter, hence it should not matter to anyone else! Just kidding! Next weekend I am ready!

I find it interesting that Snowshoe is bragging about natural snow and snowmaking right now when they got almost 3 feet of snow when Sandy came through last year, but didn't open

But the are making snow which looks to me like they might attempt a temporary opening to get some press.

Nah, Snowshoe's snow surface manager is now Ken Gaitor. He came to Snowshoe from Mount Snow and he was one of the guys behind the conversion of Carinthia to the park phenomena that it is. Ken spent countless hours in a cat pushing LARGE amounts of snow around in the process. He LOVES giant piles of snow to play with! Plus per one of the very recent snowcountry video blog reports that Halley O'Brien (coincidently also a former Mount Snow staffer) posted from Snowshoe, the management at Snowshoe spent a bunch of $$ buying him some new, BIG yellow Techno Alpin fan guns which I'm sure Gaitor was itching to see what they could do production wise! :fangun:
