The main forum needs to chill out...

I'm getting a little concerned with how the main forum has turned into the "Wild West" so to speak. I know it's summer, but girlish fights like the ones that have been breaking out should be solved on the slopes or saved until later. I know everyone's jonesing for winter and people are starting to get restless, but for the sake of the rest of the members (including myself), please keep it on the DL.The whole character of the board has degraded and it worries me. I hope this trend won't continue...

Except, why would you? You love this shit. It pays the bills and is the only way to keep things going in the summer. You don't need to hide the fact that we are your revenue generators. That's how it works. You aggressively promote it through FB, HighwayStar cross posts to TGR, etc. It's all part of the internet business. What would be the point of squelching your own product?

It drives a little traffic, but not much. And the forum is of course more interesting with some debate than with everyone agreeing all the time. But despite what you may think I make a lot of decisions not based on impressions or traffic but on what is good for the community as a whole. That's why I locked the "secret stash" thread, where that traffic was going to. If I cared about impressions solely I would have just let it run it's course and everyone go back and forth forever. But that post and topic takes away from the site and I don't compromise on that.
