I'm hoping they are charging the SB-Fling line now that they shut down GH side and will fire up today. That is newer big pipe, I recall Win saying with the big pipe they can get it open quicker.

Stop complaining and be heartened that Deer Valley will finally be able to add 10 new chairlifts and add 100 new trails so badly needed. Poor bastards. Sure, we can’t blow snow on more than one trail at a time, but think of the struggles out West and stop being so selfish.

You’re in the industry. Does seeing the lift with no chairs on it on December 2nd concern you? I would be. It’s a key lift.
I just hope it’s not a major issue. I would think they would be turning the lift to iron out any kinks,… that does not seem to be happening.

I couldn't tell you honestly, I am no lift expert. But my ASSumption would be they are doing alignment and/or drive work. This early storm likely didn't help them out finishing it off.

I would say if you don't see chairs by the end of the week it may be time to begin worrying. Once those are on the rest should go pretty quick.

I heard ME shut because pond was drained. It has recovered and they should get gun back on today. Looks like a nice shot of natural Wed-Sat.

Lol, I made a comment over on the "unofficial" Sugarbush uphill thread on FB (John B is the admin) about "its Sugarbush, they won't open uphill on lynx" and he direct messaged me because he saw my "tough comments" and wanted to open a dialog.
How about just engaging the community and creating a better uphill policy? Stowe is allowing free range on the gondi side ahead of their opening this week.
It kills me that people have have not figured out what SB is like. Even some of the long time locals. Go check out Mt Ellen for yourself. Don't say anything and make your conclusion on policy. ;-)

MRG opens Sat.
Love their honesty: from their report

While the depths might not be legendary it’s enough to get sliding, so we’re going to ski it. Skiers should anticipate EXPERT ONLY conditions this weekend with everything in play from open water, dirt, rocks, ice and of course moss & grass. The snow is soft but so is the ground underneath so patrol won’t be able to mark many of the hazards that exist out there.

Has doppelmayer handed the lift over to SB yet? Thought that was supposed to happen 2 weeks ago.

It is disappointing if Bravo won't be open this weekend with all of the natural snow and cold temps. Hopefully they fire up the guns soon.

Our snowmaking is bad yet it has rarely been this bad. Barely made snow this week with prime snowmaking temps. Any explanation from the mountain?? Is the Mad River too low to draw from??

I don't know if this makes anyone feel better but... I'm trying to talk the wife into going to BC for xmas so I checked the whitewater website and they've gotten 120" of snow to date and they don't open until 12/9.
