We can move to Switzerland and ski full time. Healthcare and most social services are free, so all we'd have to pay for is housing, food, and skiing. I think I can swing that on $33,600 a year.

2800 a month would not go far in Switzerland .

Yeah, but it's not dependent on your income so if you get a halfway decent job you could do pretty well. Not to mention there really aren't any healthcare costs.

I have a very cute friend from Switzerland...
She's a struggling musician... I bet she's stoked..

It's kinda like how Alaskans get money every year from the state...

It would also depend if that $2,800 is taxed. Switzerland has one of the highest tax rates in the world.

On the other hand, it would be really silly for the government to hand out money, then turn around and tax it.

I hope you all have a lot of cash reserved if you want to live in Switzerland. It is outrageously expensive there. I spent 80$ on 4 coffees, juice and bagels in Zürich. Dinner for 4 at a moderate Bistro will run you about $300.00. Fantastic place to live but VERY expensive.

I guess that's why everyone needs a subsidy?

i wonder if that depends on where you live (cost of living). Housing in Europe in general is more expensive than the states and fuel is always expensive.
