I went to St Moritz twice when I was in the Army living in Italy. Thanksgiving trips with the local ski club. I was recently thinking of getting back there. I don't recall the expenses, but I remember the super deals we got on hotels and condos.

Also, health care wise...my son was an infant the last time we went. He got sick (roseiola sp?). It looked like measles. The hotel got a Dr to make house calls...three visits. I paid the guy with a check from my Pennsylvania bank....$115 total with the prescription he delivered. This was 1980...and I thought that was extremely cheap.

Ha...the other thing I remember....language barrier. We don't speak Swiss. Do you speak French?...just a little. And boom, off the guy goes in English like it was his mother tongue. Awesome.

I hope you all have a lot of cash reserved if you want to live in Switzerland. It is outrageously expensive there. I spent 80$ on 4 coffees, juice and bagels in Zürich. Dinner for 4 at a moderate Bistro will run you about $300.00. Fantastic place to live but VERY expensive.

I guess that helps answer the question of where funding comes from. Tourism.

That's about $360 in today's money. Not bad, but not nearly as good as $115 sounds when not adjusting for inflationary effects, etc..
