The main conservatory building (i.e. Victorian "greenhouse") surrounds a central open-air area, which is where these huge water gardens are. As you can see they contain an abundance of the types of water plants Monet grew at Giverny. Surrounding the pools are walkways on which container gardens feature many of the land plants he nurtured, including trellises with flowering vines. Inside the greenhouse is a replica of his footbridge over a water feature surrounded by plants. Over at the Ross Library is an exhibit featuring two original Monet paintings, lots of historical pics of him in his gardens, diaries, hand written receipts of his purchases, and modern photographs of Giverny.
If you want to hike around NYBG, you can visit the fascinating rock garden with waterfall, the children's Adventure Garden, the Rose Garden, to name a few. The grounds are large so there's also a tram if your dogs start barkin'. The exhibit goes until October 21.
