STORRS - Jasper Howard, a 5-foot-9, 174-pound starting cornerback on the UConn football team, died today after an on-campus stabbing.

Absolutely stunned when I heard this today! Watching the local Hartford news this AM they mentioned the stabbings, but no names, then as I was driving to Gillette Stadium heard WEEI announce that it was Jasper Howard - stunned.

My son said the alert went out to all students at 12:30AM. It was homecoming weekend. This is really scary for a parent of a student.
