Not sure if it had them originally or not, but Chair 22 at Mammoth has these restraint bars. And that lift is anything but a bunny/beginners lift!Yeah, only time I've seen that is on beginner lifts, bunny lifts, areas where kids are likely to frequent.
That new Alta lift is a great example, and as a parent of a 5 year old (last year 4 years old when we were there) I appreciate it.

YupWe're talking about many bars, not just a handful. Like one every ~8 inches all the way across, it's like that?
Yep, everyone gets a handle between their legs. That lift is legit scary, including when entering the top terminal, you go into a metal tunnel to the unload. The top return is fully enclosed in a bunker, two huge clamshell doors can be shut for storm cycles. We're talking about many bars, not just a handful. This is a ski area PR report. There is no final report because Montana doesn't have a tram board. The Forest Service may have a report but it has not been released. The final report.

Thanks. That might explain why I could not find anything really official. I think it is fair to call this a press release. This is a ski area PR report. There is no final report because Montana doesn't have a tram board. The Forest Service may have a report but it has not been released.
Yeah, this is why I wish we could see some sort of formal investigation. I think what they are trying to say in the PR is that the wind caused the chair to swing and it deflected off a sheave but I might be wrong. How windy was it to deflect towers sufficient for a deropement?
I find that excuse preposterous.
I think what we do know is that wind played "some" role in the accident.yeah no way a tower deflected... a chair could easily swing and derope under the right circumstances albeit a very abnormal chance.
