Not aware of other Tennis fans on Alpinezone.

If so, who are you pulling for?

Definitely Federer for me. It's been awhile since he's won a major and his window is closing rapidly at age 30. Arguably the best to ever play the game. (I personally think Sampras was the best ever despite Roger breaking many of Pete's records.) Would love to see him win and walk away just like Pete did.

If not Roger, than Novak. Dude's already has had one of the best season's ever. Another Major and he joins the legends of the game.

Been some good matches so far. Though Rafa beat Gobulev in strait sets last night, the Russian certainly made him work for it at time.

Hope a better youtube of this comes up as well, but James Blake hit perhaps the most blistering return in the history of the game last night. The fact that it was match point made it even more impressive. Unreal to see a guy hit a return that fast by someone.

..Yeah, sure would like to see a LOT of that...maybe not quite as big, but he can come close to that with most servers...especially Nadal(if he gets that far). Of course it was the last gasp serve of the loser...so the serve is usually kinda weak and flat as a pancake. He's gotta keep that up, even with better players with better serves...from point #1 onward. If he can do that...my $.02 = he'll go further than he's ever been. It's a great field this year...just about everyone's healthy.
I certainly wanted to see Marcos (Bagdattis) be more aggressive/inventive. Think he's got a little too much going on?...to concentrate on tournaments = just a guess. Isner's in great shape....would like to see him get to net more often with his serve...~130+mph(average 1st serve)

I don't follow tennis, but do enjoy watching it from time to time, and therefore not really rooting for anyone. Not a fan of Federer though, as he always seemed smug and arrogant.

Tennis? Yeah i follow it, used to play but no time anymore and rotator cuff issue. I'd like to see an American go deep or win it. It would be nice to see John Isner win it. If he serves really well and comes in more often he might have a chance. Realistically I don't see anyone taking down Novak, he's on fire and playing with lots of confidence. Murray could have an outside shot but not likely. Rafa needs to get his MoJo back if he stands any chance, but even if he gets it back, Novak has his #. Fun stuff to watch.

agreed that Federer comes off as smug and arrogant, but the greats in sports often do. Michael Jordan did. I used to always route against Federer, but now that his career is almost done, it would be nice to see him win one more major.

Novak should be the favorite, but he had to pull out of Cincinnati two weeks ago with a shoulder injury. Not sure how bad it is. With that unknown, it's truly a wide open field.

I used to play tennis when I was in high school but it's been a while now. I'd love to get back into it. A really fun sport (and CHEAP... unless you are on a ladder or something).

I remember going to watch Boris Becker play in Hartford at the Civic Center. I was probably eight... my dad actually called the hotel Boris was staying in and asked to speak with him so he could see if we could meet him. We never ended up getting to meet him but I'll never forget him trying.

I also remember everytime they said "Deuce" I thought they were saying "Juice" and I kept asking him to buy me one

Djokovic had a whole six pack of woop ass open last night. Actually, 3 six-packs. Amazing to watch.

Yeah, I guess Novak's shoulder is just fine. That was a serious crushing.

I played tennis my senior year in High School. I didn't feel like dealing with my lacrosse coach for a 4th year. After high school, I didn't really have any friends who played, so I gave it up.

I just got back into last summer as my wife wanted to learn how to play. I definitely dig it and wished I'd been playing all along all these years. Thinking about joining the USTA to find other players in the area.
