Does anybody want to give me a valid reason why I can’t walkinto a Verizon store with an unlocked Iphone 4 purchased NEW from Apple and not be able toauthorize it on a Voice & Text (contract style plan) or the Prepaid service? Please don’t use the lame excuse that it’s a smartphoneand it needs data to operate as that is incorrect. The phone has the setting to turn off cellulardata and the phone will work on Wi-Fi for any and all updates, apps, browsing ,streaming, syncing, etc. Why do I needto be forced into a data plan with an UNLOCKED FULLY PAID for, non-subsidized phone? By the way, AT&T allows Smartphones onprepaid – but the data is via Wi-Fi.

I was just informed that the phone is now on a VZ smartphone prepaid plan at $60 a month. It is $10 more than a featureless phone that this is replacing. I guess going to a VZ retail store is what should've been done in the first place.
