Hey,
Just have to put in a word for Vasque's Wasatch mid-level hiking boot in their WIDE sizing. With my wide forefoot, high mass over my instep, and pronounced big toe and associated bunion/joint. My Montrail Torre's were giving me a lot of friction and had thoughts about having work done on them, but opted to look at Vasque's Wasatch boot...as LLBean had it in a regular and another, more local shop had the wides. What a great fit! ..added area in the toebox, forefoot width...together with Vasque's nice ankle closure....made for an outstanding boot for me. Just a great fitting boot...and having had them out in the snow over a dozen days on 1+mi hikes...talk about a boot making a hike feel a lot shorter!!... Great support and control/grip throughout, especially around the edges...as I'm frequently stepping onto wet rocks/logs....every other day....up in the woods hiking to waters here & there gathering water/soil/plant samples while on the second job.
Don't know how the Reg fits...but if you're having some forefoot/toe issues, you outta' try this boot's "Wide" on. Pretty much the same heel pocket..just more room up front....:-D

Glad to hear that things are working well. FWIW my Vasques did not hold up well at all...

....

c,
The Montrails were REGulars, were just right everywhere as well...but not the big toe side...and the ankle wasn't as good fitting as the Vasques are...my thin ankle area combined with my wide forefoot & high peak...;-) the Vasque boot in a WIDE will probably bomb in sales!;-) ...as it fits me so well... , can't imagine it fitting a normal foot..;-)
