Burke Mountain and Catamount Arts announce today that Vermont's own Seth Yacavone will headline the 5th Annual Burke Mountain Music Festival. The festival is set to begin with opening acts from the Dave Keller Band from Montpelier, Vermont and the instrumental sounds of the Boston Horns All Stars.
Produced in conjunction with Catamount Arts, the 5th Annual Burke Mountain Music Festival will be held on Saturday September 24, 2011 staged directly behind the Sherburne Base Lodge, with amphitheater-style grass seating on the mountain's lower slopes surrounded by the autumn fall foliage. Tickets for the festival will be available for sale at Catamount Arts or online at www.catamountarts.org .

Released on June 24th, Seth Yacavone's debut solo album, Land of Split Decision, features Ray Paczkowski (Vorcza, Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews and Friends) on keyboards, Robinson Morse (Vorcza) on bass, Steve Hadeka (Lowell Thompson, The Cush, SYB) on drums and of course, Seth Yacovone on guitar and vocals with special guests including Gordon Stone, Joe Moore, Charles Eller, and more.

The Boston Horns is a funk/jazz/soul band led by Garret Savluk, one of the former front men of the Heavy Metal Horns. Over the course of 20 years, members of the Boston Horns have collaborated and toured with a wide range of artists including Tower of Power, Extreme, Johnny A., Shawn Mullins, Laverne Baker, and Susan Tedeschi to name just a few. Their compelling mix of funk, jazz and soul has kept them busy performing in clubs and festivals in New England, New York, Montreal, San Jose, New Orleans and as far away as Tokyo.

Based in Montpelier, Vermont, The Dave Keller Band's reputation for dynamic, soul-stirring performances extends throughout New England. Like the best blues and soul men before him, Keller learned his art firsthand from the masters: Mighty Sam McClain, Paul Rishell, Fontella Bass, and the late great Robert Ward. Most recently, Keller was featured as singer and co-writer on Living in the Light, the new CD by legendary guitarist Ronnie Earl.
The Dave Keller Band features three of Vermont's top shelf musicians: Jan Schultz on Fender bass; Brett Hoffman on drums; and Ira Friedman on Hammond organ.

Sure to be a great time in the tradition of Burke's previous four music festivals!
