Resort or Ski Area: Wachusett
Conditions: Machine Groomed, some cookies.
Tunes: Audioslave - Audioslave album, after that some shuffle action including She Wants Revenge - Tear You Apart, Folk Implosion, U2, Great Big Sea
Trip Report: A Quick hit at Wa tonight, mainly went up so that I could pick up my Pass and not have to deal with it tomorrow.
First was a trip up Minuteman as 10th was being groomed, Minuteman seemed to be running a little less than full speed. Hit Hitchcock right off the bat, skied pretty well (better than I remember from last season), switched over to the Summit chair which seemed to be full speed, going up I was inspecting 10th, not the greatest grooming job I've seen from Wa, but they're still recovering from the ice storm... crowded at the summit as 10th was still closed but the groomers had gone over to Connie... so the crowd continued to build at the summit for 5-10 minutes until Patrol finally opened 10th, I waited for the herd to clear out before I started down the hill, first run was great, followed the line I had picked out from the chair... got cut off by a snowboarder who was a little over his head at one point... had to slam on the brakes, someone behind me had to do the same and almost took me out...
By the 4th run, the cookies on 10th were getting pretty severe... still pretty skiable, but you had to be on your toes.
Hit connie after that, once on the left side and once on the right side... right side was much better. A quick run back to minuteman and hit Ralph's... Ralph's was in good shape, but there are a couple very dark spots where lights are still out from the ice storm, but it was fun.
A good warmup for tomorrow night!
