I have not Bill, but if I had I wouldn't be that aggrieved if it went from free to costing some amount.
Most of aren't actually objecting to the free part and would be happy to pay a few bucks a night to keep the same system.

I have not Bill, but if I had I wouldn't be that aggrieved if it went from free to costing some amount. Like I said, I can not imagine refusing to go to a resort based on that. Other things are of much higher importance to me, and I'm surprised this is a major issue to many.
More bad news for budget minded skiers from wa?
No more last minute decisions/wake up at 0400, check the weather channel and decide to go to wa expecting to use your wa card to get your AAA discount....and no more $8 off either.
Making it a bit more difficult to save money.......
Could be a Berkshire East season for me.....longer drive, much better and more hospitable place......

I just got a clarification on Wa's Ski Watch. There will still be a FREE ski watch. You will lock your own skis/board with a FREE key supplied by the Ski Watch person. There will be a system for getting a key/showing your key etc.
I recommend we all sit back and wait for the news to come from Wa. To my knowledge, based on my ONE visit there this year AND on my friend's visit thre last night...SO FAR it's still pretty much the same old Ski Watch...although the news last night was they are starting to use the key locks vs the little tags.
AS AN EXAMPLE...back in 99 when Wa first started the Century Pass deal (the current Bronze Pass), the way the deal was worded combined with the price...it sounded way too good to be true. Bottom line, it was everything it was touted to be and more...all for $149. It took Wa a few itterations of the announcement to word it such all the nay-sayers (including myself) stopped sniping and started buying and enjoying.
When Wa puts out the announcement, I'll share it here. The Race Department is supposed to publish something soon (before the league kick-off event next Thursday).
However they want "word" this it sounds like a bad decision.
Haven't watched yet, but just saw this posted to FB: http://www.wachusett.com/Default.aspx?tabid=204&EntryID=180

Uhhhhh can't you just split your skis up on the racks? I can almost promise theives won't bother looking for the other ski. Tell me why this wouldn't work.

The new ski watch is still free, they now hand out locks for you to use so that everyone can lock their skis on their own. I think this is to get rid of the long lines of 20+ people the old ski watch used to get when only 1 or 2 people were attending it.
