So I actually did make it up to Nashoba on Feb. 14th for an afternoon of turns with Wayne. There were six or seven other skiers along with me, Wayne and Pam (Fletcher, former US Ski Team; the Fletcher family owns Nashoba).

Wayne and Pam were holding a "carving clinic" where they just went over some basics (feet can't be glued together, weight on the outside ski, etc). I didn't pay much attention frankly, as I was more interested in watching Wayne ski (Pam races the Tuesday night beer league at Nashoba, and so do I, so I see her all the time. Everybody else was like "wow, a real US Ski Teamer!").

Wayne took only one run through the bumps. They were pretty "firm", and were completely in the afternoon shadows (couldn't see anything in there), but he sure made it look easy. Wayne then promptly announced that he's "too old for icy bumps", so that was it for his bump skiing on that day at least.

Wayne didn't do any freestyle moves -- no worm turns, jet turns, Wong Bangers (I had to ask him what a Wong Banger was...), ballet moves or anything like that. Kind of a shame, as I was hoping to see him do that, but then again -- I'm not sure his body allows him to do that anymore.

Wayne can most definitely still ski though. Very graceful, fluid skier. He really, honestly, truly enjoys being at lil' ol' Nashoba.

I'm surprised he doesn't use twin tips.
