Got out for my usual loop about 5:30. DEFINATELY feeling the lack of energy that day 3 of my diet to "sprint down" 10lbs before I goto Hawaii for 10 days a month from now - need to better plan some of my limited calories for a bit closer to ride time than i did today.

Did my 7 miles of the Orange out to the corn field and back down to the yellow and finished with the orange in an hour and 17 minutes. Had my new toy, a garmin 205 bike computer on the stem tonight. Found out that my regular route has 1850 feet of elevation gain over the 7 miles .

Also managed to break my 1st piece of equipment on the back tonight :) My left pedal housing took a good hit from the support rail of a pedestrian bridge and I cracked the housing, but I stayed in the saddle and kept on pedaling! Just a decent excuse to stop by the LBS tommorrow and pick up a new set before tommorrows RAW :)

Now you also have the tough decision of going with flat pedals or clipless.

EASY descision for me! And the only clip I plan on using today is a paperclip!! I most definately will still be sacrificing the pedal power transfer efficiency of a clipless system for the "oh sh$t" safety of flats!
