My first comp I attended was when the World Cup came to Waterville Valley back in the mid-late 80's. I was priviledged enough to see such legends as Pirmin Zubriggen, Alberto Tomba and Marc Ghiradelli race.
I went to the very first Bust and Burn/Legends of Freestyle event at Sunday River and actually met and spoke with Scotty Brooksbank, Wayne Wong, and John Clendentine(sp?). I've been to a couple since but none have even come close to the fun I had at the first one!
I've also seen the Budwieser Arieal Assault Team a couple times. Pretty impressive seeing those guys and girls huck themselves 40' in the air and do triple twisting backflips
Last April I climbed into Tucks and saw the Son of the Inferno Race. What a blast!
How about you?

I saw the U.S. Alpine Championships a couple of years ago at Whiteface. Bodie kicked ass. World Cup mogul tour stops at WF every year. Snowboarder cross tour stop last year was fun. They're always having events at WF.

My bud grew up in LP and saw all the Alpine events in the 1980 Olympics.

True story – he was 15 years old at the time and his uncle had tickets at center ice for the game that was to become THE MIRCLE ON ICE, arguably the biggest sporting event in history. He was offered one, but said no thanks, he was too tired and didn’t feel like going. Unfreakinbelievable, I never let him live it down.

Unbefreakinlieveable! It's funny how many people think that was the game that won them the gold medal!
I tried to go to Waterville to see one of the mougul tours. I'm pretty sure it was the Pro Mougl Tour. I went the wrong weekend  . This was back in the late 80's early 90's. I've seen Donna Wienbrecht practicing at Killington.
I'd love to see Bode in action!

Spectator at the 2000-2001 NCAA Division I Alpine Championships at my alma mater, Middlebury. Some fast racers...

Though I will confess that ski racing doesn't do it for me. I went on the last day to say that I went.

I much rather partake in our sport rather than watch others do it...

this is true even of people who race (or at least it was true with me when i did race). only college, so not much to write home about. but you can learn A LOT from watching the pros, especially on TV. you want to learn how to ski better? take a free lesson at home and study how the pros race. you don't have to ski like they do, but all the fundamentals are there.

I've never been to a real competition but I will be at this years USSA Alpine National Championships at Sugarloaf in March! Bode will be there. As will Kristen Clark. Two former loafers return.

I saw World Cup at WV like NHpowderhound
did. But I saw the women's GS I believe. Bring a can of food for charity and you skied for $5 that day. Place was packed, trail adjacent to race course was literally blue ice with people falling and sliding all over the place.

Also have seen some bump comps at Kmart and Mt. Snow.

Sprint freestyle skiing comps at SR in 2002?
I have seen multiple snowboard and freestyle skiing comps at SR as well.
Seen several son of the inferno races

Personally:
I raced on the Inter-Lakes High School ski team in Alpine and GS, where we won the NH state M/S championships several
I raced through through Gunstock as a JI through JIII. (SL, GS, & Super G)
I have competed in multiple big air, halfpipe, and skiercross comps at SR.
I competed in Bust N Burn mogul comp at SR in 1997-2000.
I have on a penthalon team in the Son of Inferno in 2004. I did the skiing portion on Left gully on my teles. (WE SHOULD MAKE AN AZ TEAM)
And of course, I'm a member of the AZ race team.

Never seen anything in person except for NASTAR at Wa which I also participated in. I should figure out who the pacesetter is there. What a cool job.

I, like others here would much rather do than watch, however when I'm stuck at home or there's no snow on the ground and I'm watching TV anyway, one is hard pressed to tear the remote from my fingers if there's anything that involves two (or one) boards strapped to someone's feet on crystalized water.

I have had no desire in my short career to seek out events to go watch. Any free time I have in the winter is always spent figuring out how and where we'll be skiing.

I went to the WC Downhill at the Birds of Prey at Beaver Creek 2 winters ago. I went with an Austrian friend and she brought along 4 or 5 other Austrian gals. 8)

I go to just about every major Freeskiing event during the Winter.

When I was competing, I entered the Anti Gravity Graile, Underground Freestyle, Pig Air, Bust N' Burn and every competition that Wachusett had for freeskiing.
