Never Summer SL! Greatest all mountain snowboard ever invented! :-D Used it in just about every condition in Killington and Breckenridge and it is awesome. Was worried a little when I bought it in the Fall as I never used a rocker or hybrid rocker board before, but after I did 1 run on it I was sold!

What type of riding do you like to do? The Kink is a soft park-oriented board. Do you ride the park? Ride the whole mtn like a park? Just ride the mountain? Do you like to ride switch? There are lot of things to take into consideration. Hopefully these will help start you in the right direction

took a demo for a day a couple of years ago. thought it was a nice cruising board, but it was a bit heavy for me. good board though.

i ride the park, whole mt. like a park, glades, switch...etc...
you are right. i had the kink for about 4-5 years now. it is a great park board. it chatters a bit when going fast, but other than that, it holds up pretty well in most conditions.
debating between hero vs. skate banana at this point.

This season's board is much much lighter than 2 years ago and lighter than last seasons. I had a Ride No4 before and this thing is 1/2 the weight!

i have a yes basic and its a little stiffer than my old gnu. it reacts quicker and feels lighter too. i like the feel. twin tip, so it covers riding switch, but its not rockered, more carving and high speed. i dont do park much. according to store associate, danzeisen and quigley in nj, yes started as a group of disgruntled ex burton employees, who decided they could make a better board for less than the price of a burton. take it for what its worth.

I can't comment on either one of those boards as I have not ridden them. I just picked up a YES Basic the other day and it is a real fun board. Took it everywhere this weekend at Bretton Woods and Loon. park, glades, greens, blue, blacks. It handled it all well. Camrock is worth checking out. It is probably very similar to the Jones Mountain Twin, both made by the same factory and similar specs.

Yeah riding a rockered board totally makes you a pussy. How do you figure? That's such a ridiculous statement. Your so hardcore. Those 2 boards you ride are both directional boards meant for charging the mtn, which is perfectly fine if that is what you like to do.

But don't just write off a rocker. I guess all those pros who ride rockered boards must be pussies too?

Rocker offers a different feel underfoot and shouldn't just be written off, especially if you have never tried it. Have you ever ridden a rockered board, flatline or a hybrid camber/rocker?

So tough you are, so core.

It's almost impossible to recommend something. Everybody is so different. I've looked at many many different boards and I probably would've been happy with about 10 different boards I looked at from Never Summer, Ride, Lib tech, YES, Jones, Rossignol, Arbor, Capita and Flow. I picked the SL because it was used by several people at a shop at K that I've bought equipment from over the years and I got a good deal on it. I've never really demoed anything. Just kinda took a chance. Sometimes I've been disappointed and other times (like now) I've been very happy...
