Which of these 2 motels near Stowe would you recommend?

Headed up late next week for a couple nights in VT (skiing Bolton Valley and Stowe) and my online research points me towards two places near Stowe that have similar off season rates (appx $60 a night) and amenities.

I'm traveling alone so just looking for the basics; clean room, onsite or nearby food/beer and free internet access.

The two are:
*Northern Lights Lodge (has a full free breakfast included)
*Town and Country Resort (has pub onsite)

Any input would be appreciated as I haven't locked in yet.
Thanks

Town and Country is nice. The Stowe Motel and Snowdrift is also nice and less expensive. I have included the link http://www.stowemotel.com/ . I have stayed in the Fireplace Suite a couple times. I have also stayed in a Deluxe Efficiency and in the Mountain View Apartment (with a group). It has always been clean and neat and the service has been great. They also have a breakfast available (sometimes included).

Don't know about your choices but how about these two:

Golden Eagle Resort in Stowe - probably $70 a night w/ breakfast
Best Western Waterbury - about the same

Stayed at GER two years in a row and it is AWESOME!!

The Innsbruck Inn is nice and reasonably priced also, about $65-75/night. When pricing don't forget to figure in the Vermont Lodging tax and resort service charge usually 15-20% above room rate.

thanks for that tip!
took a look at the website and they look pretty decent and also offer free full breakfast and internet access with a pub onsite....
i just emailed them to ask for a "special rate" for one...we'll see

I'll chime in here and suggest that you avoid the Best Western Waterbury/Stowe. On a recent stay there, there was NO HOT WATER either of two mornings I was there. The front desk told me that there are plans to replace the hot water heater this summer, but....unless you enjoy/need a cold shower.....

T&C offers you the basic ammenities; however, I would suggest the stowe inn for the best stay, free breakfast, and a fantastic bar. The owner's family (father - Jed) is great to all visitors and for the past two years I haven't had a bad room or experience.

Al at Northern lights is a great guy. One of the only places in town that has not turned into a wedding factory, still has many guest that have been coming back for years and years. And he works his butt off which is more then you can say for alot of the owners of other establishments who spend the winters at their house in Tartolla. Close to the Mtn. too!
