The skiing weatherman is great, but only a couple of updates a week. I think Tim Kelley(NECN)does a great job. I believe he is the most accurate. Any other opinions? There are threads on this in the hiking sector nothing on skiing/riding that I found.

Harvey Leonard on Channel 5, and no one else on Boston TV is even close......

Dick Albert on Channel 5 is a joke.
Todd Gross on Ch 7 uses too much hair color.
Ed Carroll on Ch 4 is too boring.

But - Mish Michaels and JC Monahan are worth watching anytime, rain or shine......

Jim Cantore is good. He does the old Shelby Scott we are in a blizzard here.
I think he is from VT. Cantore that is, loves to ski from what he was saying.
Yup, Cantore is from White River; we went to the same high school (Hartford High), but he was a few years before me. You might notice that he mentions White River a lot on his broadcasts.

I think Alexandra Steele from TWC. She looks like she likes to throw back a few and show the ole kitty. Definately Tim Kelly though, he is the most accurate. Pear Boy (Matt Noyes) aint so bad. Paul Kocin should clear his throat.

Sorry. I missed the topic title, i.e. "...best ski Weather info". Moved it back...

This year, it seems like Burbank has been coming up with outrageous forecast that keep coming true. He'll say something that's completely different from everyone else. Then, everyone bitches at him and it ends up coming true.

I try not to listen to TWC as their forecasts are usually WAY off, but they have Cantore and Kocin who do a good job. If the volume on your TV is working, you can always tell when Kocin is on. I want Cantore's job. LOL, he does everything.

Todd Gross and Pete Bouchard are pretty good at 7 News. They tend to be conservative with their snow forecasts, but they usually do good on long range forecasts.

FOX 25 ALWAYS predicts about a foot too high. They had 38" for the blizzard which was definitely not happening and it didn't.

I'd have to say Burbank does the best with days 1-3 and Gross does the best with 3-7. Anybody who forecasts more than 7 days out ("cough", accuweather)just don't get it's basically impossible.

Alot of differing opinions... Zands relpy sounds fairly well thought out, good camparisons.
I enjoy Paul Kosin reports from the winter storm desk. I listen to more of why and how the storm develps from him. Tim Kelley is a skier. I think he has our interest at heart. I think I am a weather junky.

Caught him at 7 AM today and it;s fuzzy, but I think he was thinking the same as the others for this one. However, Gross says that the storm may go out to sea, leaving us with 2-4" instead of 12"+.

NECN hands down, particularly tim kelley who really goes into detail in the mountain areas, calling off ski town and ski areas names that will see some of the better accululation. as Bob mentioned, tim is a skier and covers the winter sports end of things well. he knows people out there are watching that enjoy the snow and he really cators a forecast to the outdoors person in addition to all the metro drives.
