How can you possibly predict how much terrain will be open at that time?

What if they get a month long hot spell? We're talking about something that is 5 weeks away . . .

Not contradicting at all. Sure a warm spell could happen, but I’m using past precedent to form my conclusion. They start the snowmaking season by blowing snow on Excellsor, Upper Valley and Lower Valley. That’s top to bottom skiing on Little WF. Baring unseasonable warm weather they’ll do the same this year. Most mountains open with the same set of trails year after year. You really ought to pay more attention Matt.

Just admit that you have no way of knowing how much terrain Whiteface will have open (with the knowldege that past performance does not guarantee future results), and I'll be happy. . .

haha oh man. Well highpeakdrift nailed the opening day layout. I just wish opening day was a week or two eariler like a few years ago. I remember going to Whiteface on november 15th 2 years ago to pick up my student pass, wasnt planning on skiing that day but I got so excited I ran back to the truck which thankgod I had left my gear in there. By the end of the day it started to snow. awesome.

Yeah, last year was sweet, too . . . Pic from skiadk.com:

But, here's an HPD pic from 2006:

Not hard to imagine that a slight difference in temperature could severely affect what meager snow cover they had . . . Admit you don't know what the conditions will be HPD!!!!!!

:-D

Arguing on the internet: Becomes more and more stupid as ski season approaches . . .
