Wii/wireless bar

looking at getting a WII. I have all my components (cable box, dvd, reciever) all in the basement racked, with my flat panel hanging in the family room just above. the reciver will will the switching, so i can have the WII unit down with everything else, question is, will the WII Wireless bar be able to push the signal for the "joysticks"

The wireless bar is actually a series of infrared LEDs that the remote uses to determine what position it's pointing towards, so that when you point the remote at the screen it knows where you're pointing and can put the cursor in the correct spot. The sensor bar needs to be on, or very close to the TV. AFAIK it actually has nothing to do with the actual wireless capabilities of the remote (controller). I'm not sure what the range is on them though.

Never had problems with the range. That bar needs to be positioned at a good height though. You'll need to get the balance board for Wii Ski. Its cool, it lets you ride the lift, ski moguls, race and even go back country.
