Wildcat closed today due to legit crazy winds. Glad I decided to go tomorrow instead. From the cam view of the base it dosent look like much sking was done today, if any. You can still see the corduroy at the base. Tomorrow should be a good day.

Do we have a bingo card for Prez Day Weekend? I expected weird stuff and I got it all I think:
- early to Lot B and got boxed in by people arriving after 10a
- carried the following up the lift between Sat and Sun: dropped goggles, dropped glove, dropped pole, and a ski
- saw two people casually (and thankfully slowly) crash into each other and keep moving on like nothing happened
- shared a lift with someone bemoaning the lack of bubble 6-packs “like every other mountain”

Drove past the base and it looked kinda empty… confirmed when I parked 2nd row at Bear Peak @ 10:15a. Low crowds AND Kachina Triple running… was not expecting that.

Avenger is “open” and I skied it twice, but very scratchy even with the sun beaming down on it.

Over at main peak, Wilfred’s and Ptmarigan were skiing insanely well relative to the other trails I was on. Kudos to the snowmaking and grooming teams, maybe replacing the triple with a HSQ won’t be a complete shitshow after all.

Back to Boston now, heading back up tomorrow night and hopefully 4x days at Wildcat with new snow to end this holiday week 🤞

View attachment 57064Wildcat has been skiing great the last few days.

Unfortunately no more updates from me for the remainder of the year. Fell bad (on a groomer!) and blew up my fibula plateau. Out of the first surgery now and waiting a few days for the (hopefully) final surgery.

Damn. Sucks. Just bone damage? No ligaments I hope?

I did an attitash morning and wildcat afternoon. Both are skiing excellent right now. The afternoon session was maybe my best of the year and I had some pretty good days back In January. You weekend people will get yours for sure. Crust is going away at last

Alright dumb question time but figured it might spark some discussion. Skiing at Attitash for the first time Saturday. Like steeps, natural where do I start? Attitash, Bear??? Summit Triple sounds like a great chair for 1 (or 2?) beverages. Would make the trip to Wildcat but not in the cards.

Tim, Idiots, Tightrope on the Attitash side...Wilfreds also. Find a little semi abandoned trail called straight shot. It's skiing good, explore that area
Avenger and Kachina on the Bear side. there's trees on the Bear side. Look around the Abenaqui lift and by the curve on Wandering skis

Wildcat claiming 22 inches out of that which explains why it was so ridiculously good.
