Great ski seaon indeed, took up telemarking and it really is another world, but always nice to give the quads a rest and click the heel back in....after 30 yrs of downhill i needed more of a challenge......also took up a new business (like i dont have enough going on with my other 3 business)...but if anyone is in need of a new wireless phone, wireless pacackage (att, verizon, alltel, sprint, nextel, tmobile) , dish network, direct tv, adt security please let me know...

Here's my deal. I'd like to make a switch to DirecTV, but it seems I'm held hostage by Comcast and the fact that there are no other internet options in my area. Verizon, no, AT&T, no. Right now I have the Comcast Triple Play, and switching just the TV and keeping phone and internet through Comcast isn't cost-effective. Any ideas? Zip code: 02766.

Comcrap Internet is much better than the Death Star's but you didn't hear that from me...

Also, DirectTV is partly owned by the Death Star so....

Did that back in January...

  • Install: initial install went well but I had an above ground cable because of frozen ground, underground install OK but I had to bug Verizon to get a technician out to finish the connection to the permanent drop
  • Phone: fine, no problems, wish I could integrate voice mail with the phone
  • Internet: fine, no problems, download speed actually slower than I had with cable but I can't tell the difference
  • TV: like having more channels than I did with Dish, like having On Demand, HDTV is good, picture quality is fine but I can't tell any improvement over Dish for SD, on-screen guide and set-top boxes are not anywhere near as good as I had with Dish
Overall, I'm glad I switched, mainly because I get HDTV, more channels, and one more hookup for the same price. I'll see what happens with the bundle discounts after a year...
