WTB Vigilante TCS Tire - 29in
Nicely proportionate blocks and spacing allow the 2.3in-wide WTB Vigilante TCS 29in Tire to excel in rocky, loose, and wet all-mountain conditions. As one of the more aggressive 29in offerings from WTB, the Vigilante features square-edged lugs with siping in order to boost traction.
This helps them claw over broken rocks and wet roots alike, as does WTB's Dual DNA rubber compound and 60 TPI casing. A 60a durometer center is plenty tacky for damp mountain soil, but not so soft that a day of shuttling in the desert heat is going to rip the tread up. At the sides, 50a durometer rubber comes into play.
The softer, slower-rebounding, rubber works with shifted side knobs, that are siped as well, in order to improve control and grip at the limit. For security, WTB employs its TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) to create a lightweight, sealant-based tubeless casing with a positive bead and rim hook joint that prevents burping and air loss.
The Vigilante TCS 29in Tire is UST compatible, with the use of sealant, and is available in 2.3-inch width. Please note that this tire does not include either tire sealant or rim tape.
