XP Re-install question

My wife's former work computer;s work-installed software finally realized she doesn't work there anymore, and shut the whole thing down. Fortunately, she backs the whole thing up every day. I reinstaled XP, with drivers, and it works okay, except for one thing.

In IE, Word, and Excel, scrolling down a page goes in chunks, rather than smoothly, like an ighth of a page at a time. Any ideas how to fix that?

Never mind- I got it. Had to reinstall all the drivers.

Yeah- apparently they set the computers up with a 4 year account. At the end of that time, you have to put in a code to unlock it. Your supposed to wipe the computer completely after you leave, but she never did. I could never use her computer, mostly because I could never remeber the 6 (seriously) passwords needed to get in.
