Sunshine Ski Resort Fires Ski Patrollers Threads Removed from Internet

It's remarkable how "management" continues to feed the flames of this PR nightmare. This will certainly be in the text books of how not to handle a PR situation.

When do you plan to start your season?

It'll be a miracle if I get in a day before Christmas. I've come to the realization that the next two seasons are going to suck for me. Oh well.

How do you become an Ambassador?

I guess the first question to ask is "Why?" Many areas have fairly significant commitments to be "Ambassadors" (or what evever tehy choose to call them. Much of the time, you are working, not just skiing. Some resorts, it can be an OK deal, if they are generous and you can get family tickets...

It's 10:30AM this Saturday in NH...

Cannon sounds like a plan. With all the talk of NCP hear in MA, I don't know how many are going to head North this weekend. I suspect it will not be ober busy.

    Rocker Skis?? (reverse camber)?

I have a pair of Volkl Kuro's, which, aside from being absurdly wide, are rockered. When it comes to something as firm as what us Easterners would consider "Packed Powder", their width is beyond fat, they're morbidly obese. These are my only experience on rockered skis, so the width makes it...

Monster Dump Wide Ski 24 Hr. Special for AZers

Granted, I carry a little more baggage than I used too, but I'm with you. I had 132 under foot and had to get in the back seat to bring the tips up enough for a face shot. I realize so folks are "quiver impaired".

    Magic Mountain VT, 24-Feb-10 Uber-Pow-Day

No understatement here, it was the best East Coast Ski day for me and really one of the top three anywhere. (That being said, I wish it came in a season that I had more days in on real terrain...damn I miss being able to get 30 days a year in at Magic.) Even late in the day, upper Black was...

    Magic Stoke 2/18

I spent so much time in the white room, Housekeeping came in to change the sheets! Frankly, I haven't had much to post about. Most of my ski life has been endless groomers @ "The Crotch". Today was a notable exception. Great to meet Roark and Bill, and always a pleasure to see Riv.

    Magic Stoke 2/18

It was pushing 30" at the end of the day. I had to clear 14" off my truck when I left. Red Line (the closed section) avalanched: Full depth the with of the trail. Need I say more? (Yes, I'll try to get the picture up.) My biggest mistake was taking Trick at Sweep: Not enough pitch to keep...

Where do you think you will end your season

Could be Tuck, but this has been an odd season for me. I'll leave it a little broader... somewhere on the Presi's

    Speaking of goofy lifts

Onset had a Bubble chair. (I think Gore did too?) Burke's Poma takes a turn about 2/3's up The summit T's at Cannon were made going up almost as exciting as skiing down. I think Haystack's transfer lift was also chain drive. Mount Sunapee use to have one lift cross over another. Angel Fire...
