    Cannon 3/8/24

Wicked hard packed snow, many patches of ice, limited terrain, amazing sunshine, and unlimited visibility everywhere. Warm temperatures allowed minimal layers. I wore no thermals, had all vents and pit zips wide open. Later in the day the sun softened up a lot of the lower angle stuff. But...

T-shirts and all the other stuff

The days are getting shorter! There‘s a cool breeze … maybe that’s the AC but for sure … Winter is coming!! I’m continuing to add design to my TeePublic account. I’m gonna let most designs on Etsy expire but I’ll still have a few things there. However, for most things TeePublic rulez for a...

Best vehicle for booting up in the parking lot.

I’ve seen a lot of variety in this category; from hatches that shield from the elements while you boot up to fully enclosed vans that are essentially a rolling lodge. What’s your solution or dream ski van?

    Long Range Possibility

I know it’s long range but it’s the first possibility for heavy snow for northern New England.

It's July so naturally I start thinking about skiing. Don't you? So I've starting a new thread with a new t-shirt design. I'll be adding more ski "maps" here too. Stay tuned. In the meantime here's for Better times ahead. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1252391128

    Spring time on Cardigan

Kicked off hiking season with a little hike up Cardigan a week ago April 20. There was snow on and off most of the way up from the nor'easter the day before. Quite a bit of ice and left over snow from earlier at the top. Almost full winter at the top although temps hovered just below freezing...

    Ragged Dec 14 - 3rd day out

So Ragged has done an amazing job with near dismal weather. A lot of variety for such limited terrain. They actually had three distinct and different routes not even to mention the possibility if mixed and matching. The key? Wildride.

    Ragged 12/3

Friends of mine, SKIERS, asking how it was were incredulous because it was windy (maybe a little) and cold (seriously 30° is cold?) and it rained the day before so the conditions were probably terrible (conditions were fine).

    The Marker Enigma binding

What can anyone tell me about these bindings? A friend asked me to adjust these for some new boots, which I did. In the course of doing that i found a mystery wrap in an enigma.

Ski themed tee shirts and whatnot

I am a graphic designer that has become antiquated beyond repair. So I’ve taken to t-shirt design. Through the miracle of the internet, on demand printing (they can direct print on just about anything these days), and Etsy I can hire myself to design tee shirts or whatever. My Etsy store can be...

Not really a hiking post although hiking was involved. More driving. You’ve possibly seen paddling videos to the same location. It the Ghost trains of Northern Maine or Allagash. And it was a pretty cool trip. We stayed at Big Eddy Chewonki Campgrounds. .

    Skunked in AK?

I can't imagine going to Alaska only to get skunked. Let alone traveling from Colorado that was getting bombed all year. But imagine if you traveled from the Northeast this year. Lesson? Buy travel insurance...

SRKG Trail from Proctor Acad 6/4/16

AKA the Sunapee Ragged Kearsarge Greenway or Dale's Trail or Wilson's Trail or maybe just Ragged's Backside Trail. I'm gonna start out by saying how badly I bonked after a mere mile and a half. I blame my lawn. It made me mow plus some bushes insisted that I prune some tree branches back so...
