    Hybrid quandry

I am ready to trade cars, and have narrowed down to 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid or Ford Escape hybrid. The family discount is too good to pass up on Ford- so I am not really interested in changing manufacturers. I have found nothing negative about the Fusion online. I have driven Fords for 30 years...

    April Fools Day is Approaching-

So as you may remember, last year I scraped the creamy middle out of the oreo and replaced with toothpaste and punked my 16 y/o son. That nifty Alt/Ctrl/arrow down and arrow up PC trick in the Windows thread is a good one for coworkers. A few years ago, Mad River Glen wrote an article for the...

    College Students and the Vote

I was disturbed today to learn my 19 y/o college student has not yet registered to vote and didn't know which presidential candidate was Rep and which was Dem. She hadn't 'gotten around' to researching. The reality is as a (senior) paramedic student who is also working to support herself she...

    April Fools tricks yesterday

Did anyone get 'tricked' or trick someone yesterday? I left an oreo on the kitchen counter for my 16 y/o, but I had replaced the middle with toothpaste. Got him. NPR had a great story on how the government was going to assure that we spent our upcoming 'rebates' on purchasing consumer goods...

    Looking for Camp Kitchen

I plan on doing some tenting this summer and am looking for a Camp Kitchen- the kind with the rack for the Coleman stove, a sink pocket and prep area-and some storage. New, they cost $150 or so. Does anyone have one or know of one stuck in someone's basement? pm if you do.

    FS: Thule adjustable bike rack

I am cleaning out the garage and found the bike rack I used on my Ford Taurus. I have a different vehicle now and don't need the rack. I used it on a Ford Focus wagon as well- so it can adjust to a wagon or sedan. I put 2 bikes on it with no problem. I don't want any $ for it- just want it out...

    PetFinder.com experience

Has anyone used this site to find a pet or find a home for a pet? I am looking for a home for my dog and posted a profile on this website at the suggestion of my veterinarian. I got about 10 emails from people wanting to adopt my dog- but they all made me uncomfortable- like it was one person...

    Stewart or Colbert?

I thought this might spark interesting comments. Who do you prefer- Jon Stewart or Steven Colbert? I lean to Stewart- but both of them are great in their timing and differing delivery style.

    When you grow/grew up

My daughter graduated high school today which got me thinking.... and it is sort of two questions for old farts like me: 1. You have just graduated HS, and if you had it to do over again, would you take a different direction? (listen up Austin) 2. As an adult, did you grow up to become what you...
