    The "Sugarbush Thread"

They've been lax about updating the report lately (and even mention they don't plan to update it often) so possible it just wasn't updated earlier today when I looked. (Also a super odd decision to point blank announce they're not updating the report much. Is this something that really is that...

    Peeing while skiing

LOL. Either one hell of a first post or a really odd AI bot! I once rode a chair with someone (that I didn't know) that peed off the side of the chair. (It was during the Stein's Challenge and the person didn't want to lose any time!)

Looks like they plan on giving Stein's a reset tonight (or at least I'm fairly certain that symbol wasn't there earlier today):

    VAIL SUCKS

Yea...I'm glad I did the Stowe zipline a number of years back, but not sure I could convince myself to do one again after that incident.

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Keep in mind they were closed the past 2 days, so they haven't done any work on the snow surface since Monday night. It is amazing how crappy it can look at the end of one day and then how much better it looks after the groomers work their magic the next.

    VAIL SUCKS

Simple...they're likely analyzing sales to determine when is the best time to "push" people into purchasing (plus analyzing data to determine how much to increase the price). Vail loves data analytics. This doesn't surprise me one bit.

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

They've been using one of their winch cats every night they've been grooming lately. I don't know if they've actually been using the winch itself, but I doubt there's any cost difference on whether the winch itself is used or not. This is just a a decision where they didn't want to groom Steins...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

I had fun today sticking to the trails that were groomed last night, although it was definitely colder and cloudier than I expected today. The bumps were nice and soft yesterday though. Those bumps on Steins are getting pretty big. I wouldn't mind a reset before next weekend on that one.

Are they seeing an increase in people though? This thread was just discussing how K has less people than usual this spring. And for Ikon holders K would be one of the alternate options to Sugarbush...

There have been other years that HG was closed by now and there were still more crowds those years... I've seen more crowds when they've been down to just Stein's and Spring Fling off Valley House other years.

Sugarbush has been pretty dead this spring since the eclipse weekend. Really seems to be less people this spring than usual. Sure we haven't had "perfect" warm and sunny weekend days, but the spring skiing has still been quite good. Don't know if it is the weather or something else.

Agreed. I can't see expansion being even seriously discussed until a lot of other priorities happen first.

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

I don't think it is accurate to say it is entirely dead. For example it showed additional pods on Mt Ellen that it was discussed here could potentially be future expansion options (like the pod above Inverness). Anything in the Slide Brook area is for sure dead though. And I wouldn't expect any...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

New side-note on a different topic as some were discussing mountain biking earlier...Sugarbush does NOT plan to have any lift serviced mountain biking this summer due to the HG replacement project. They'd have to cut off access to too many trails so figure it isn't worth it. They will still have...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

I'll second what both Win and teleo said. I've had numerous days where the wind was howling on SB and HG was calm as could be. All depends on the direction. I've been on the chairs with a number of people over the years on days like those that didn't even think of trying HG because of the wind...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

They're making the entire area where you would offload higher. (And also as a result HG itself would offload higher). It will then be ever so slightly downhill towards Jester (a 1' drop from the top of HG to the top of OG). They're also doing tree clearing (and blasting I assume) straight ahead...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

HG being less susceptible to wind hold will definitely be a plus. Although not going to lie...I liked when you had to work a bit on Reverse Traverse to get to HG when Bravo was closed. That made for some VERY enjoyable skiing on HG due to many people opting not to make the short uphill climb on...
