    Best time to buy skis?

I am looking at a pair of new skis, currently going for $837 on Amazon. Are prices going to drop as we get into Summer? They claim to be at 38 percent off now.

    Bubble lift opinions

Had a good first day of my season at Camelback PA. They have a new 6 person bubble lift. This was my first experience with a bubble lift. The lift itself is great. Padded seats and back rest, smooth, quiet and fast. It's like sitting on couch. IMHO, bubble feature is another story... What real...

    Rain and warm temperatures

In watching the 10 day forecasts for the PA and NY ski areas, the 1 warm day always has the precipitation, all the 9 other cold days have nothing. The cold air move in often a few hours after the rain ends. Is this a cruel joke or a scientific phenomenon?

    New ski boot liners

My left foot has a higher instep.I found wearing the liner only, the elastic strap over the instep causes too much pressure. I don't see how It can be stretched since it's elastic. Does anyone see a problem cutting the strap about hAlf way to relieve the pressure?

    Footbeds

Have instaprint footbeds from current boots, moving to new boots for next season. The beds fit fine except they seem too thick. Foot sitting too high in the boot, pressure on instep and heel not fully down in pocket. The bottom material of the bed is easy to sand down with sand paper. Seems...

    Weekend crowds ?

Just looked at webcams for Camelback, Hunter and Windham. Seeing almost no crowds on a bluebird day with perfect snow. Are they not showing them on cam? What is going on? I know from experience, Camelback is a madhouse on any given weekend or holiday.

    Camelback 3/15

Packed powder and blue sky. All runs perfect. If you like fast and smooth, it's basically good as it gets. I guess similar conditions across all Poconos and Catskills. Took my best runs of the season. Asp, Rocket and cliffhanger favorites of the day.

    Camelback 3/8-9

After the storm on the 8th, snow was soft, but held up well with light ski traffic. Snow was a little grippy, but over all great day. On the 9th, was colder and firmed up. A steady snow shower put fresh powder on the trails and made a perfect packed powder surface from skiing traffic. There is...

    Death at Camelback 02/20

I see a news story about a skier who died yesterday after accident. Says found in woods off trail. Must have skied off trail by accident, there is no snow off the trails to go out of bounds on purpose. I remember this happened last year off Hump trail. Anyone know more about this? So sad.

    Camelback 2/9

It's under 1 hour away, standard day trip spot. Conditions firm and fast, not ice. Empty trails. Asp is favorite run, was great. Nile mile was not full of beginners, was able to enjoy cruzing it. Light to moderate snow started falling around 1130, great athomishere. Glad to get there before the...

    Windham 2/5

It snowed the night before. Monday was blue bird, and perfectly groomed packed powder. The place was empty, often only skier on the run. Only issue was snow making was blasting the East peak. Stayed at hotel Vienna and local restaurants are excellent.
