    Bike Log

    Saturday was my first ride of '09, 6 of us did a 42 mile road loop from my house. And then on Sunday I skied Hunter. Hope to keep that plan up all of March - bike Saturday, Ski Sunday.

    Definitely the lodge, only exception in many years is backcountry trips and Breck (boot up in the condo, grab the shuttle bus which drops you off 50 feet from lift)

    I skied Stratton yesterday, the high temp I saw was 15 degrees at 8am, by 530pm it was down to 8 degrees - both measured at the base. Definitely a chilly day on the Mtn - they got around 4 inches of super light powder.

    Some folks go up via Bellows Pipe, when I went in Dec. there were 3 groups of 2 and all 6 went straight up..2 were on skins, 2 were snowshoeing w/snowboards on their pack, 2 were snowshoeing w/skis&boots on their pack. I am 99% sure we were the 1st ones down this season (it was Dec 20th) ALSO...

    I'll be at Stratton tomorrow gate judging....hopefully I can sneak 6-10 runs in Snow will overspread the northern berkshires...and southern vermont late this evening...and become heavy toward daybreak monday. Winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts overnight and continue...
