Fox Racing Downpour Jacket - Men's

BK.jpg

If you live in a mountain town, you've heard some over-the-hill local say 'if you don't like the weather here, just wait five minutes' and then cackle like they just came up with it. It's a mountain town cliche, but there actually is some truth to it. Mountains affect the clouds and the air currents, causing the weather to be unpredictable. Because of this, it's always a good idea to carry a rain jacket when you head into the backcountry, even if it's sunny. With a 10,000mm waterproof rating and strategic venting, the Fox Racing Downpour Jacket is much more than a typical light rain jacket. You may not use it ten rides in a row, but when the clouds open up on that eleventh ride, you'll be happy that it's tucked away in your pack.

Fox started with a tough, 4-way stretch fabric so you would never experience that binding feeling that you get when you max out the fabric on a regular jacket. This stretch property also makes the jacket tougher, because it gives where other fabrics would tear. Then Fox added a durable water repellent treatment to give the Downpour a full 10,000mm waterproof rating. Fox also taped the seams, a common weak area for waterproofing, to completely seal out the weather. The hood is removable so it won't flap around behind you when it's not in use, and Fox designed it to fit under your helmet so it's snug and won't enter your field of vision. Hook-and-loop cuff adjustments seal off your cuffs from rain and drafts, and will work with any type of glove that you happen to be using. The hand pockets are closed with waterproof zippers to keep your valuables safe when it really starts coming down.
You'll want to dump heat quickly if it starts warming up inside the Downpour Jacket. To that end, Fox provided underarm vents and a vented back panel that won't allow rain in but will let heat out. A rear headphone loop keeps your cord where you want it without snagging your brake levers or passing tree branches because an unexpected, involuntary headphone ejection can be extremely unpleasant. It may be even more unpleasant to be hit by a car on the way home from the trail. Fox added reflective elements to the Downpour to make you more visible in traffic.
The Fox Downpour Jacket is available in sizes S through XL and comes in Yelllow or Black.
