When I first opened the web page and saw the leaderboard today I thought that the R&A was doing a "flashback" leaderboard until I saw Steve Stricker's name who at that time was in 2nd!

Awesome for Watson, who argueably is the most appreciative US golfer of all time of the history and tradition of links style golf!

Part of he though for my own sick viewing pleasure hopes that atleast 1 out of the next 3 days will have some REALLY NASTY weather pounding the Scottish Coast to make Turnberry play in its truest form! :)

I don't think anyone cares about the PGA.

If there's an Open I'll watch at all on TV it's actually the British. I find the links style much more interesting to watch and love the old world scenery surrounding the courses.

Oh, I love the British Open, it has all kinds of cachet. But I all-too-often miss it with chores to do in the morning. Golf on TV is perfect for crashing and vegetating around 4 pm after my chores are done. Little in life is better than a golf nap. But lately they have too many damn commercials that wake me up. Not to mention too much Cialis. What's with the bathtubs? (Please resist the hijack.)

The British is the gran daddy of them all---first tourney ever played so respect must be given. The PGA offers up the toughest field of the year so the player who wins that one is on their game and deserves all the props. 2 diff tourneys with 2 diff vibes.

Tiger is mortal, who knew?! Maybe the golf media will actually focus on other golfers for more than half of their coverage now??
But ratings will be way down..unless the other TW is playing Sunday.

I've caught very little of the British Open, but what I have caught has kept my interest piqued.
Bummer about Tiger going home, but still........lots of great golf to be played in the next few days....
Where's my popcorn?

Snowman 8 on the par 4 5th for Fisher..Watson again tied for the lead..

Bingo! Gotta see how quickly Fisher can stop talking to himself and saying "I should have wedged it out!"

If Watson can somehow get a birdie in the next hole or 2 to get some positive momentum rather than his stuck in neutral start, could be his.

This sucker is WIDE open with about 3 hours of golf left!

Tiger Woods is such a baby. When the shots don't go his way, as they didn't on Thurs & Fri, he slams his club down & acts like such a spoiled brat. I respect his abilities as a golfer but I don't like him as a person. He's a sore loser (or at least he really looks like he is). Part of it may be that he's so used to winning tournaments, he's not properly adjusted to losing.

In any event, I still think he acts like a 12-yr old when he performs poorly.

If I had a few million on the line and a chance to win one of golf's four biggest tournaments, I might slam clubs down too if I had performed as badly as Tiger did. I think there is a big difference between being a sore loser and being pissed off at yourself for sub-par performance. This is par for the course for most pro athletes. As long as he is just slamming clubs down and not throwing them and being dangerous to other people, I say who cares. He should be pissed at himself.

playoff

I thought Watson should have chipped on 18. Putting seemed dangerous there and proved to be.
