Anyone in Mass live near this "floating island?"

Interesting article. I laughed at the part where a new couple moved in and the island bumped into their property. A neighbor posed as a tax collector and told them they had to pay extra for the new property.

It's about a five minute drive away from me. Have seen the island in various places in the pond, but never stayed to watch it actually move. I thought that there was another floating island in Congamond Lake in Southwick but that it was tethered. I guess I was wrong.

Well they go on to say that the assement that it's only one of two floating islands is wrong. They did try to tether this one, but the DEC stepped in and made them remove the ropes.

I'll try and get a pic of it and post it here. Of course, it may be hard to tell that it's an actual island. Maybe some time-elasped shots may work.
