Looking at doing the Bonds on 09/30.
In an ideal world, would spot a car at either Gale River or Hale Brook the night before & start hiking near 7:00AM from Lincoln Woods( I have faster friends who if they showed up at 8:00 or even 9:00 would catch me)
Hike would either be Bonds, South Twin & Galehead descending Gale River
OR
Bonds, Zealand & Hale. If Hale is too much or it's too laste to plan being on top of Hale before dark (before Sunset) then just go past hut, down Zealand Trail & walk the 1 mile down the road.
If weather was bad, Owl's Head would be the objective. I've been to the Bonds once in the rain & wind, no reason to do it twice. See Dave M.'s site if you want to see details from the rainy day. I'm learning, slowly
