NY Farmer Returns from Errand to Find 12 Cows Missing

ELLENBURG DEPOT, N.Y. (AP) -- A northern New York farmer says someone made off with his prized heifers in broad daylight when he was away for a couple of hours on an errand.

Conrad Frennier and his wife returned to their Ellenburg Depot farm Wednesday afternoon after a last-minute doctor's appointment in Plattsburgh. They found 12 of their best young cows had been stolen from inside the barn.

A neighbor reported seeing two trucks with cattle trailers ascend the couple's winding driveway and then speed away about 15 minutes later.

Five of the missing heifers had been shown by the Frenniers at the Clinton County Fair. The estimated value of the cows is $15,000.

State Police ask anyone with information to call the Plattsburgh barracks at 518-563-3761.

If it was goats instead of heiffers, I think we all know who would have to be considered a suspect ;)

Alleged Jail Smuggling Ring Head Pleads Not Guilty

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- The corrections officer accused of leading a smuggling ring at the Essex County Jail has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and official misconduct charges.

Joseph Mastriani, a nine-year corrections department veteran, was among 13 people arrested Thursday in connection with the alleged ring. The 30-year-old Nutley man entered his plea Friday and remains jailed on $200,000 bail.

Officials say Mastriani is being held at a facility outside the county for safety reasons. If he does attempt to post bail, he will have to prove the funds came from a legitimate source.

County prosecutors say the ring supplied inmates with everything from narcotics to cell phones.

Two inmates allegedly took orders from other prisoners and passed the requests along to Mastriani and another corrections officer. They would then send word to others outside the prison, who would buy the requested items.

Oh one thing is irrefutably true - your BELOVED genes are without doubt from a different dimension , hopefully totally unique and without possibility of replication :D

A dimension where chlorine has not yet, but should be, added to the pool. About as deep as a mud puddle in July.
