Anybody heard about this? If it works, it just might be the coolest thing ever. I have my doubts though, especially if it needs to depend on cell coverage at the mountain (though it does say no Internet connection needed once the map is downloaded).

That's slick! I know some driving programs operate the same way...you download the map beforehand, then the GPS takes over. I'd imagine that's similar to how this program works. I think it would be great for areas of VT...especially where cell phone service is "spotty" at best. You can almost always pull a GPS signal; especially at a ski area.

Cool but it says it's available at the App Store. I couldn't find it there.

Has anyone found the link to actually purchase it?

I'm buying an IPhone on the 15th when my contract with Verizon ends.

Do a search for skiing...that's how I originally came across it...$9.99

Also a $2.99 Snocountry conditions app that looks pretty cool.

That'd be even better with an Android phone, which also has an internal compass as well as real GPS. Could literally hold the phone out and look around.

Check out the all potential "snowcator" (i kid you not) has.

as a die hard i-phone and mac user i would not get this, yet, for so many reasons.
it just relies on to much to function properly, but, it is the start of something amazing. check out the features and imagine them working smoothly, thats where it will be at in a year or two.

Yeah, I'm intrigued....cheaper than the 3dskier too at $5.99.

The reviews suggest you don't download the map first as is the case with the 3d skier though, which makes me wonder about performance speed and whatnot. Both have major potential.

The future of these phone apps is amazing!
I was told of one that you can type into, it will translate it into the language of your choice, then spit it back out in that language!
If you think about it, that is the groundwork for a real, honest to goodness, universal translator, just make it voice based with a tiny ear piece and small microphone.
