Date(s) Skied: 1/9/2010 - 1/11/2010

Resort or Ski Area: Mad River Glen

Conditions: Mostly Powder with a few thin spots

Trip Report:

Skied Saturday, Sunday and Monday at MRG with my brother and his wife. On the drive up Friday night, I had the brilliant idea of trying Rt. 30 / 7 / 17 then over the mountain instead of going up the valley on Rt. 100 – first and last time. It was dumping by the time we were heading up the west side and 1 MPH ABS the whole way down. It was worth it though because the skiing was phenomenal. It was about zero degrees on Saturday but warmed up by about 10 degrees each day. I think we hit almost every trail at least once. This place is wall-to-wall fun. I can’t wait to get back.

Favorite quote "Oh yeah, there's the ice."
The CT bump brigade would love that run.
One thing about MRG, if you're not a strong skier, it sure makes you one!

Where were all the freshies?

Heh, the gap in spring is another sort of 'adventure'... not recommended.

What I noticed was the squeaky/crunchy snow. Looks fun up there still!

I hope to hit it up once a month through April. Probably Fridays. Lemme know when you're up for it.

Where were all the freshies?

On Saturday morning, we were finding untracked all over the place - plus, the mountain was surprisingly empty. By Monday, it started to seem a little skied-off but we were finding powder in the Gazelle Glades area.
