Resort or Ski Area: Pat's Peak (on the way back from Sugarbush) :D

Conditions: Powder, Machine Groomed

Trip Report: We visited Pat's on our way back from a visit to Middlebury and a nice day at Sugarbush. Due to a couple of private parties, the parking lots were overflowing into the Nash Farm and even the Henniker Motel's Lot. The crowds at first sight were crazy! After unloading and getting settled in whatever room we could find, we clicked in and headed to the summit.

Our run down Duster was bumpy and we found Lower East Wind to be just as bumpy. After this, we took Twister, which had some nice powder moguls (best it has been this season :D ) over to Whisper and the new Whisper/Puff Superglade that had just opened thanks to Pat's snowmaking efforts and some new snow. The glade had a slight pitch to it and was quite open and great for first-time tree skiers, such as Ms. Trailboss. Better yet, the lights illuminated the area and made it skiable at night....my first night skiing experience in a glade!!!! :p We liked it so much that we returned for numerous runs in some untracked powder from the previous week's storm. Many folks just stayed on the same beaten paths, but Ms. Trailboss also enjoyed finding her first "freshies" .

After supper, we took a few more runs in this glade before a gentle run down Puff. Ms. Trailboss headed in to get cleaned up to go home while I hit Cyclone (great shape), FIS ("frankensnow" surface thanks to recent snowmaking) and two more great spins down Twister.

Try out the new Whisper Glade...day or night! The Puff and Zephyr/Blast mini glades were nice as well.

A nice quick stop on the way home!
