Feb 17, 2007: Whitecap of Rumford.

We slogged up and down this mtn for nearly 7 hours. Too much snow to ski and too slow going to make the summit.

The idea was to hike to the NE snowfields and do some back-country skiing.. the deep snow shut us down and the tiny bit of skiing Jack did was a lot like work. You can watch a 4 minute edited video here..

Did you have a nice view of the GIANT paper mill? God that place is huge

no view of the mill.. we didn't summit out. the sun wouldn't hold out for us.

(it is a big mill though.)

That's why they make gadgets like snowshoes, AT bindings/boots, wide-waisted skis, and skins.
I think those tracks were from regular alpine, AT, or tele skis.
