From the Sugarloaf Forum, I think it's funny:

NEWSWIRE SPIN/ All in fun: Boyne/usa continues to dazzle the skiing community with capital improvements at their
eastern resort(s). Along with the $14 million improvements at Sunday River Ski Resort, Boyne/usa will invest huge quantities of something in improving the skiing experience at Sugarloaf/usa.

To begin with, the Sugarloaf/usa Village will see huge improvements. Three gallons on gray paint will be applied wherever necessary to cover the rotting wood structures. The adhesive and void filling qualities of Ace Paint is sure to improve the various structures that have been condemned by HUD. Additional, long term planning may include installing Tyvek wrapping where ever necessary and within the planning budget.

After considerable thought, no new lifts (whether replacement or new) are planned for 08/09 because it takes twelve months to obtain a permit in Maine. Our sister resort, Sunday River, is in the state of Maine where it takes less than 12 months. In essence, the only new lift that Sugarloaf stands a chance in getting is a used rope tow. Current long term planning may have this new used rope tow installed on the old Gondi line location, thereby having bottom to top lift service. Down loading on this new used rope tow during winter and summer will be permissible. Capital for this used rope tow will be funded by the new ‘Glove and Mitten Hut’ to be located in the old summit Gondola building. For the 2008/2009 season, the lift maintenance crew will be issued baling wire and one case of new duct tape in multiple rainbow colors to keep the existing lifts operational. Twelve month permitting is beyond the Boyne/usa strategic horizon.

For snowmaking expansion, we have a multiple year plan to dramatically improve our capacity and reduce our energy use. Major 2008 improvements will include a new 100-foot - 5/8” garden hose and a slightly used 1986 snow gun purchased on ebay. In addition, beavers will develop a new snow pond. The Maine Animal rescue league will donate two beavers that have been instructed to dam up the village stream. In 2009, a new hose bib will be install by Java Joe’s in order to connect our 100 foot –5/8” garden hose. We will continue to showcase our five new Boyne Snow Fans at the Superquad base area. Discussions on possibly using these guns at Sugarloaf/usa or shipping them to our sister resort is under consideration. Energy cost will be dramatically reduced once the new electric meter by-pass wires are installed. Thinking outside the box is one of our strong characteristics.

In order to show case Sugarloaf/usa to our target market, Boyne/usa has requested and received a placid documenting that Sugarloaf/usa is now the official site of the Ski Museum of Maine. Museum officials are delighted to have Sugarloaf/usa show cased as a historical relic with no future.

As with Sugarloaf/usa’s past owner (ASC), Boyne/usa is elated to inform you that all ticket precedes from sister resorts in the east will be used for capital improvements at Sunday River. Sunday Rivers appetite for capital improvements will never end. Sugarloafer’s, please buy a season pass today! And please tell you skiing friends in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Maine about the $14 million improvements at Sunday River.

Leaders at the company are continuing to be challenged at Sugarloaf/usa. With all this talk about improvements, Management continues to be befuddled why ‘ski visits’ continue to decline and tumbleweeds are blowing down Main Street. Once ski visits increase, we are sure that we can make even greater investments.

Once again, the $3.7 million dollars that has been invested in Sugarloaf/usa over the last 50 years signifies our commitment to it’s future.

Certainly funny, but you'd think that if it was posted in the SL forum, the author would have gotten the name of the resort right. Sugarloaf dropped "usa" in September.
