Resort or Ski Area: Wachusett Mountain, MA
Conditions: Wet, fast, no puddles or potatoes
Trip Report:
Took my 3rd trip to Wawa in 4 days tonight. It was ABSURDLY foggy just about the whole night. At some points, you couldn't see the sides of the trail. The conditions were excellent for the weather. Wet, but fast and no potatoes. Everything was perfectly groomed this morning, so there weren't any remaining bumps, but the larger snowmaking whales were still there. There were maybe 75 people there at 6, and less than 25 at 9.
Conifer: Nice the whole way and still some bumps to the side. 2 or 3 very small bare spots at the top, but fine in that area otherwise. The bottom was very fast with great air off the whales. Polar Express was cranked up to full speed all night.
Challenger: No bare spots in play, but all of the natural snow on the side is all gone. Also nice and fast the whole way, with a whale or two along the way. Minuteman was up to normal speed.
I hipe to be back next week sometime. They're closed this Tuesday-Thursday due to the forecasted rain, but the arctic air and more snowstorms are coming back this weekend so they should be cranking once again.
