Amazing how long these reviews take. Doesn't matter the industry, the Feds take forever. If we have a new medical device and I hear we hope to release it in 2025, I know that means 2027.

We had discussed this in the other Loon thread earlier this year when they for the most part bypassed North Peak with snowmaking. Well, just got an email they have started a big snowmaking upgrade on North to include a new water feed line and all new valving for that peak. Apparently the system there hasn't been touched since it was installed in the '80's. This upgrade should allow a lot more simultaneous trail coverage next season.

Wait--the North Peak Area does not get snowmaking during the season? I seem to recall there being coverage when I visted between 2004 and 2008 or so.

Yes we're doing the Loon work. They froze the line up there last year.

Don't know if you were in the cat dragging pipe up the hill on Loon's socials today, but regardless that what sounds like much larger diameter pipe over the original installation pipe from 30's years ago, maybe even pushing 40yrs now based on a fond memory soon after Loon opened North Peak skiing with my younger brother and my aunt and uncle in the mid-ish 80's as I recall, should let that impressive snowmaking system they already have, flex even more muscle going forward!

Looking back through pictures from this season. I show snowmaking on lower flume jan 13 with equipment being deployed on Upper flume the same day. Not sure when upper flume got open but I remember it being a while after they started blowing.

Problem has been the focus to get south open for the holiday week before filling in north. I get they need the parking at south but the ability to blow UWB along with sunset and either half of flume early season would be game changing. Probably would have been my #1 request if filling out a survey.

I use the term "we" liberally lol. I am only part time outside of my regular M-F job and thus far have not done work there this year. They are really good at what they do.

Yup. The fact they can never make Upper and Lower Flume simultaneously in the past has always grated me. Hopefully with the upgrades, that will be a thing of the past and they can blow it TTB for a full open!
