Good start to the season. No walkway needed, open top to bottom. Plenty of thin cover naturals available on North Ridge and Snowdon.
Some small bumps and berms formed and made for fun skiing. Only drawback to that was having to dodge skiers on Mouse Trap bumps
or, even more frightening, the icy last narrow part of Chute before it joins lower Mouse Trap. Cascade and Downdraft headwalls also very
skiable.

I'm in Utah, no skiing here until sometime after Thanksgiving. Same many western locations currently. Warm fall. You guys in New England rule the ski world right now

1. Nov. 14, 2025 Stowe (pre-season)
2. Nov. 21, 2025 Stowe

Hadn’t been to Stowe in over a decade. After the pre season turns last week I had all intentions to make it back for opening day. Front four and glades in play. Only November skiing that compares to today was Nov 2018 at Sugarloaf.

After Thanksgiving? You're optimistic. Could be goodly into December.

That said, Brian Head's in Utah, and they're at about 115% expected snowfall for this date. We might head down there in a few weeks if there's still no snow up here. Only about a 2.5 hour drive.

EDIT: On an more optimistic note, I was talking to a guy in the ski shop in Park City tonight, and he claims he recalls another year like this where it was bleak,, and then right around the first week of December they got a monster 30 inch storm that set everything up fine.

3 routes open top to bottom for opening/passholder appreciation day today. A good portion of the beginner area at the base is open. Belle blew a ton of snow. Pretty impressive.

1. Stowe 11/23 - 10.6k

Kind of an embarrassing day 1. My body was not ready to go. After skidding down a groomer to get myself in order (not really) I managed 3 bad runs on the good stuff before my legs and feet hurt so bad I was ready to puke. I also felt like I couldn't breathe correctly. I skidded out 2 more groomers at the end of the day just to hit 10k but what an ugly start on my behalf.

2. Stowe 11/24 - 25.8k

Thankfully I came around and had a much better day. Started with a couple groomers again but this time after run #2 I was actually carving and felt like I actually knew how to ski again. After that I hopped into the woods and bumps and didn't look back. Still a little bit of early season soreness in the feet and legs but felt far better than yesterday. Woods were just amazingly good. Nats like Liftline and National had some windblown powder down the sides which skied like a dream. I can't believe we got this in November.

That's all for me for November. Unfortunately work in December makes it nearly impossible to ski much, maybe a day trip or two to Mount Snow or Okemo. Definitely will focus on really grinding hard on the groomers so next time I show up to Stowe I don't make a fool out of myself.

3. Nov. 26, 2025 Sunday River

Day before Thanksgiving. Wasn’t too busy. Temps were warm. Snow soft and spring like. And the inversions were incredible in the valley. Skied 10:30-2 at Jordan, then drove over to Locke to finish out the day till 3:30.

I continued my tradition of skiing Belleayre on Black Friday. It was my first day skiing outside this season and it was a lot of fun. Good conditions.

Skied from 9am-2pm. Good conditions to start, pretty scraped off by 2pm. It was cold and occasionally snowy and the snow guns were cranking. I'll return on Sunday then thinking another trip to K next week.

Snowed lightly most of the day. Some accumulating snow forecast for Tuesday.
Good window of cold coming means more terrain opening soon.

Now I got to figure out who and what is open back east here. (Ikon or Indy). Love those lists that someone makes at the end of the season of who remains open, we need a list as to who is open on this end of the season. Saw Blue Mt Pa from the plane on Saturday and there was snow on several trails but I don't know what they are saying for opening. Also looks like storm Tuesday is shifting a bit north (never a bad thing IMO, NNJ doesn't need it). Hoping to maybe get something in the Pocono's or Berkshires this coming weekend.

So funny. My son is looking forward to coming home for Christmas and getting some skiing in here in the east even if it's only the Poconos. I think if he had unlimited funds (he doesn't) he would take the month of February, which he feels is the worst in Colorado. and would come back east to ski before heading back out for March, April and May.
