The Salt Lake Tribune isnt real "news' anymore, a few years back it went bankrupt, but was kept alive as essentially a PAC aligned with far-left interest groups that pretends to be "news" while actually operating as a not-for-profit surviving via political donations to further liberal agenda items, get Democrats elected in Utah, pass Dem sponsored legislation, etc....

He got a new job in Ohio, so I hope that doesnt mean he's going to stop this updates next season. I'd hate to have to go back to doing my own weather and pulling charts everyday. lol He's enabled me to be lazy.

At this point if Park City does get 5 or 6 inches when the snow drought ends this week, it will probably just replace much that's been lost the last 5 days.
It's been in the 40s on the mountain like every day, and 16 trails have closed over the last day or so. Almost hit 50 at 9,000 feet yesterday.
As bad as it's been, Colorado's in even worse shape, which doesn't seem possible. LOL

Groomers are actually in fine shape. Dont bother with woods or steep moguls.
Chicane and Mercury were quite good. Mercury by far the best as they just opened it this week after blowing snow for weeks. Worst spot I saw was the steep pitch at the bottom of Another World, there was a bad accident there as the rest of the trail is fine, so some people carry a lot of speed into it and the ice catches there off-guard.

I agree about the groomers. I skied Soli and Snowbird in the last few days in intense sunshine and the groomers are fun. They are firm, but there's lots of loose granular around to find an edge and make turns. TBH, conditions are like a fine day skiing manmade snow surfaces back east.

The forecasts keep looking more promising for Utah and Colorado. Got 3 weeks before I get to Colorado so fingers crossed. In the meantime going ride this eastern season the best I ( some temperature moderation would be welcome) can.
