He was a great guy and definitely a "glue guy" (the one that keeps it all together) for their snowmaking ops. A lot of institutional knowledge of that snowmaking system lost between him retiring and Kevin taking a Vail position.

Yup. One of the best. Guys like that aren't replaceable

Randy B and Dave M, 2 great guys with long careers in the industry and at Mount Snow, definitely aren't immediately replaceable with their incredibly well deserved retirements over the last few years.

Hopefully in the coming years, some of the Ops crews who worked under them will continue to expand their knowledge and experience base, and become both as skilled, and as good a mentor to subsequent generations as they were.

Definitely jobs that one has to have a natural passion for to excel at vs just do the job

cold but comfortable both sat & sun. lifts ran for the most part. the cold preserved the snow all week. the place should be 100% open - except rip cord. no snow making there yet.

Kudos to lift ops today. Things were running on time (and even ahead of schedule - Bluebird started loading at 7:50 and Sunbrook by 8:30) and kept running even as the winds really picked up in the afternoon!

Snow surface is great! Going to be really cold tomorrow..

No wind at Magic except a little at the top starting mid afternoon.

Hi again all. This is your last chance to participate in my survey if you haven't already. If you did not read before, I am trying to analyze the effects of the buyouts of ski resorts on the public by getting your responses on this quick survey on your resort before and after it was last bought. https://forms.office.com/r/ksggegkbg1

Overbrook was really good when I last skied it on Monday.. Definitely one of the trails where I wish they would add snowmaking to, so all of those fun rollers, ridges, valleys can be in play more days of the season!

I had to wipe my eyes looking at the webcam. Did they put the bubbles in the barn for the night? I dont think they have done that all year. Is this an effort to fix something?

the blue bird broke today around 1:30pm after a million stops and starts. bad day for that lift. GSE fired up soon after. must be related

From what the webcam looks like this morning, guessing they put the bubbles away last night so the groomers could make a pass under the lift line near the summit. Fresh corduroy there this morning, and the bubbles getting put back on the haul rope and moving at what looks like normal speed

Bluebird was running again by 2:30. Only had taken it once prior to get to Sap Tapper. Was breezy but? Still plenty of fresh lines in the glades. Snow was great Wednesday and Thursday.

respectfully disagree with snowmaking on overbrook. burying that in manmade would would require grooming and would vailify it beyond recognition into a plain vanilla canyon like trail.

one gun at the bottom of OMT would be nice to bury the waterbar that keeps vail from opening that for "safety"

MS needs less vail effect, not more.
