A pic is worth 1000 words, found a vid of someone skiing RPC on YT (except there was way more snow the other day). Go to 2:10. At the 2:22 mark I think is about where I was when the snow broke under me & I went all the way down that chute. Amazed I suffered no injury other than bruising, could have been really, really bad.

The video is deceiving, it's actually a pretty steep area with no way to arrest, especially if you're being carried by a river of snow. Anyway, somewhere to skier's right of that giant dead tree & in that chute is my Rossignol Soul Sender! Anyway, yes I'd appreciate it if you crane your head to the left if you ever go by there on the lower "road" that filters to Endzone.

Where did you get that snippet that said 15 inches? That was from today & PC did a ninja edit?
There's nowhere near 15 inches. And the 8" is probably only at like 8500 feet & higher.

EDIT: Here's what NWS stations are reporting (I go with these for the truth, not Vail!)
10,000 feet (Jupiter) = 9.5 inches
9,240 feet (Daybreak) = 9.1 inches (this station usually captures the most snowfall as it's in a very snowy spot)
9,250 feet (Thaynes) = 6 inches

I wish they had a few spots at like 7,500 to 8,500 to really cover the whole elevation, but alas.
Anyway, get out and enjoy it, today and tomorrow sadly might be the best days we get until next season.

Looks like about 7 inches at the ski areas state wide over here in Colorado. May hit Sunlight today before heading to Aspen tonight

I-70 mayhem yesterday. 3 hours to Denver from Loveland due to thisI-70 eastbound Right lane closed. COtrip Traveler Information.png
FedEx truck shot through guard rail and into Clear Creek. Somehow driver and passenger survived and were out of hospital.

Had my own little scare on Vail Pass as cars ahead of us spun out we started to slide but got traction back and were able to get through the accident scene. Got to Glenwood safely

I'm definitely skiing today, tomorrow, and Sunday given this is our last snow for a long time. If the below verifies Utah and Colorado are doomed given how little snowfall we've had. Winter killer.

The below chart is starting to make me think about an April ski trip someplace way north of here, like those Mom and Pop Idaho resorts people on here rave about, maybe Whister if it's not outrageously expensive to get to, Grand Targhee I hear is nice? Sun Valley? Basically anything will be better than Utah or Colorado.

Open to any recs from those of you who've explored much of the west. I only have EPIC, but I guess that's useless for anything in play other than Whistler/BC.

Not EPIC but go ski Louise/Sunshine. Easy flight from SLC to YYC.

Marmot Basin is also a possibility if you're looking to go further north.

banff/revelstoke via calgary, or other interior bc/alberta options. cant beat the exchange rate. theyve had a fairly normal snow season. they are about to get nuked up the next week or two.

edit - with your epic pass, id be checking fernie and kicking horse. i assume the RCR places still are epic partners.

I would not plan a trip to Revy or Fernie in April. Elevation issues.

Sunlight today. Observation. Sunlight summit is 9800 ft. Loveland obviously over 10000 ft. Snow above approximately 8500 ft skis pretty well. Bottom of Sunlight a little icy (not NE icy) with low tide.

It the upper elevations skied fine. IMG_5861.jpeg

Now on Aspen for the next week

Great day with some Slug laps
Also look in the first photo at all the idiots cross cutting right across the spot with the most avalanche fatalities in the state…

I was at Brighton today 6 Mar 26, 2 feet in last 24 hrs. I didn't get there by bus until about 1045am but the leftovers were very nice, Caught a 3pm bus down canyon got a seat both directions, which was lucky because they were packed.
Got several good laps off Great Western.
