OK, I slammed the South Ridge Chair as being the most useless peice of steel in the ski industry.

I'll retract.

Today, I spent a rather cold day at the big K-whopper and managed to hit The Jug, Breakaway, Roundabout and Jughandle, all of which had decent natual snow for this "lean" season. I did these all without the aid of the the South RIdge chair. Life would have been simpler with the trianglular oddity in operation.

I promise not to dis South Ridge anytime in the foreseable future.

Yet another Southridge Convert! Realistically that is the best pod of on-map relatively unknown terrain at K, if not the entire state of VT!

The only problem is......

The chair hasn't been spun once this year, and we still haven't gotten an answer as to whether it will even run over Pres. Weekend.

I like it the way it is. It's a good retreat when the rest of killington is skied off and crowded. so peaceful, and a good place for a special break.

South ridge is one of the best trail pods in new england, calssic ne trails with natural terrain features.

IF ... you could lap the area by simply one runout and a slow lift i would hate the srt. Unfortunatley you have to do a massive and scenic but boring green runout to the second most congested base area on the mountain. Once you get to bear you have to wait in the second busiest liftline on the hill to ride the slowest lift on the hill. The you get some good turns on bs only to skate uphill to the crowd of herbs waiting on the k1. Any sane person jumps the s3 to the canyon or glades to get another lap.

by the time you get to your second lap YOU HAVE LOST 45+ MINS but the fresh is still untouched

agreed it is a bit of an old school experience but the last few years when they ran the srt, i still had untracked turns at noon on a saturday
FREE THE SRT!!!!!!!!!!
